Progressing in Faith - For Christians Who Are Different
|
Are you looking for a safe space to explore your Christian faith? Are you turned on by grace, love, and acceptance, but turned off by dogma and judgementalism? Have you "grown out" or been "thrown out" of your church? Do you take the Bible seriously, but not literally? Are you seeking to apply the principles of scripture to improve your life and your world? We will discuss and live these and many other questions in our group. If you are looking for encouragement and support on your spiritual journey, this is the place for you!

Our next meeting:
Progressing in Faith - For Christians Who Are Different May Meeting
We're changing the date of this meetup so that we can join forces with Rob Schwartz and the "indie allies" meetup whose interests and passions are similar to ours.
We are going to keep it at Starbucks for now, so it's central to everyone. Those that are there can discuss alternate locations for upcoming meetups.

"I'm a Christian, but my theology is "liberal". I don't believe in accepting anything at face value - rather, I study and research things out on my own. With the Bible, I always consider the historical and grammatical context of a given passage."
-
"Thank God... someone finally did it... imagine, a movement of "compassionate Christianity"!... I love God, and I accept Christ as my savior... but I really don't want to be associated with the message of most "Christians"... "
-
"Hello all. My name is Jason Fairbanks and I am the pastor of First Congregational Church of Lake Worth (United Church of Christ). I am interested in connecting with other Progressive Christians and experiencing what is next as our tradition evolves."
