Explore Idea of Starting a Progressive Christian Home Group

My wife and I grew up in a fundamentalist tradition. We are now attenders of an American Baptist Church. We have enjoyed reading books by Spong, Borg and Newell. We are in the "idea" stage of starting a home group to discuss issues from a progressive christian perspective. We are interested in putting "feelers out" to see who else might be interested. We have been feeling like we can't really express our deep thoughts in an environment rooted in traditional Christianity. Please email me with your thoughts on starting a group... maybe we could read a chapter each week in a progressive book and then meet on Sundays to discuss... just build relationships and be honest with where we are at. Food is always good, so maybe we could have coffee and some breakfast foods...
